About Gypsum Products Association
GPDA, which stands for Gypsum Products Development Association, represents the leading manufacturers of gypsum board and plaster in the UK and Ireland. Comprised of British Gypsum, Siniat, Knauf Drywall, and Gyproc, GPDA's main objective is to promote the understanding and utilization of gypsum-based building products and systems, as well as to explore new applications for these products. The association is dedicated to addressing environmental impact, energy conservation, and health and safety concerns related to gypsum-based products.
GPDA has made significant strides in sustainability, particularly with the Ashdown Agreement, which successfully reduced plasterboard waste sent to landfill to almost zero. Additionally, the organization, alongside the Plasterboard Sustainability Partnership, has developed a comprehensive action plan to further minimize environmental impacts throughout the life cycle of plasterboard. GPDA also plays an active role in Eurogypsum, an association focused on promoting a sustainable built environment in Europe.
With a commitment to continuous safety improvement, GPDA ensures that plasterboard products feature clear handling guidance for safe usage. By fostering collaborations and encouraging innovative practices, GPDA strives to contribute to a sustainable and responsible construction industry
