About GPS Epic
GPS Epic Samsys is a Portuguese mountain biking community and event series built around exploring landscapes by bike. Its events invite riders to enjoy challenging routes, discover different locations and share the experience with fellow participants, without making race times the central focus. The programme features stages in towns and regions across Portugal, with an annual calendar and an archive of previous editions.
The series is guided by four principles: GPS-based navigation using satellite technology; rider autonomy, with participants expected to prepare for their own goals without external support; keeping costs low for both organisers and riders; and sharing ideas, projects and routes among participating organisations. GPS Epic Samsys provides information about its concept, regulations and stages, and offers registration for upcoming events. Its website also features photographs, participant testimonials, an honour roll and contact details. With a focus on mountain biking, scenery, personal challenge and community, GPS Epic Samsys brings together riders seeking an engaging outdoor experience and a chance to discover new routes.
