About Grace Hospital BOP

The hospital's history dates back to 2000 when two private hospitals in Tauranga merged to form a single entity. This new company, owned by a group of Tauranga surgeons, anaesthetists, and Southern Cross Hospitals, aimed to meet the growing demand for private surgery in the region. In 2007, a brand new hospital was built on the current site, which was previously a macadamia orchard.
Grace Hospital is named after Reverend Grace, who played a significant role in missionary work within the local community in the 19th century. The hospital's name reflects their commitment to serving the community and providing compassionate care.
