Grace Jones is a Jamaican-born singer, songwriter, actress and model whose distinctive music and striking visual style have made her an influential figure in popular culture. After beginning her career as a model in New York and Paris, she signed her first record deal in 1977 and established herself with dance-oriented albums including Portfolio, Fame and Muse. She later developed a bold blend of new wave, reggae and dance music, working with Island Records producers and the Compass Point All Stars.
