Grandlore is a guided memoir program that helps people preserve their life stories, family histories, values, and advice for future generations. Founded by Karen Harlin, a storyteller, author, and educator with a background in professional communications, the program offers a supportive, confidential setting for exploring personal experiences and turning them into a lasting written legacy. Its three-part curriculum consists of three ten-week courses: the first focuses on participants and their families, the second explores friends, education, and other life topics, and the third centers on experiences and lessons for the future.
Two-hour classes combine discussion, interactive activities, and writing, with optional sharing for constructive feedback. Participants write during class and at home, ultimately creating a ready-to-print family history book, with photos added after the writing is complete. Classes are available in person in the Denver metropolitan area and remotely through Zoom, FaceTime, phone, or email.
Grandlore also provides private interview-style sessions for people unable to write or type, individual lessons, and programs for senior residences
