Generations United is a dynamic organization that champions the celebration of Grandparents Day, urging everyone to make a meaningful contribution in honor of grandparents. Established through the pioneering efforts of Jacob Reingold and Marian McQuade, Generations United is rooted in a commitment to recognizing the vital role of grandparents in society. The organization highlights the importance of intergenerational dialogue and encourages older adults to share their wisdom and perspectives with younger generations.
Grandparents Day, officially celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day, emerged from a vision to honor grandparenthood and the invaluable contributions of older Americans. Generations United promotes various activities, including celebratory dance videos and community engagement initiatives, fostering connections between grandparents and youth. By advocating for dialogue on pressing issues—such as climate change, literacy, health, and financial stability—Generations United seeks to empower both older and younger generations in shaping a brighter future. Join in the celebration by committing to "Do Something Grand" this Grandparents Day!
