About Pattern Energy
Grand Renewable Wind, a collaborative initiative between Pattern Energy, Samsung Renewable Energy, and Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation, operates a significant wind facility located in Haldimand County, Ontario. Utilizing 67 Siemens Gamesa 2. 3 MW wind turbines, the facility generates 149 MW of clean energy, capable of powering approximately 120,000 homes annually.
The project underscores a commitment to local sustainability, with blades and towers manufactured in Ontario, thus supporting local industries and employment. The facility not only aids in Ontarioβs transition to renewable energy, phasing out coal generation, but also contributes economically to the Haldimand community, projecting $8 million in property taxes and an additional $15 million for the Community Vibrancy Fund over 20 years. The fund supports various local initiatives, including public infrastructure and land stewardship.
With a dedicated team of 12 and robust local contractor partnerships for maintenance and operations, Grand Renewable Wind exemplifies a model of economic growth and environmental responsibility
