Grateful Beds

Grateful Beds is a garden design business rooted in a love of imaginative gardens and the changing seasons of Minnesota. Founded in 2012 by Cory Barton and a partner, the company has been led by Cory since 2017. It creates custom gardens that balance whimsy, elegance, and unexpected details, shaped around each client’s dreams and aesthetic.

Services include envisioning and designing new gardens, transforming existing beds, and refreshing current layouts while reusing suitable plant materials. Designs combine plants and hardscapes, with uncommon varieties selected to complement one another and withstand Minnesota winters. Natural stone and found objects may add sculptural character and distinctive focal points.

Grateful Beds also follows a low-impact garden philosophy, aiming to reduce environmental effects by managing rainwater on site. Rain barrels and rain gardens can be incorporated into designs to limit runoff into streets and lakes, while organic products help create a natural setting for wildlife and beneficial insects
