Greater Lansing Area Race Series

The Greater Lansing Area Race Series (GLARS) is a community-focused running series that brings runners and local race organizers together through a season of events across the Greater Lansing area. Its 2026 schedule includes 12 races, beginning with the Irondog 5K in March and concluding in late September. The series welcomes participants of varying experience and motivation, whether they are pursuing personal bests, competing for points, or enjoying the atmosphere of race day. Runners may enter as many events as they choose, and those who complete at least six qualify for the end-of-season awards celebration.

GLARS provides event schedules, race results, and standings for Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, and age-group categories. Points are awarded to eligible finishers in specified divisions, and standings are generally updated after each event. The series also shares updates and race reminders by email and connects participants through its Strava club. By linking local races into one season-long program, GLARS encourages active lifestyles, supports race organizers, and helps foster a welcoming running community.
