Great Lakes Martial Arts is a locally owned martial arts school in Bay Village, Ohio, founded in February 2000. Its instructors have trained and taught together in the Korean art of Hapkido since 1993, building a shared foundation for the school’s teaching. Guided by respect, honor, and integrity, Great Lakes Martial Arts aims to preserve traditional martial arts in a welcoming, family-oriented environment.
The school offers programs in Hapkido, Haidong Gumdo, and Golden Dragons, with classes for juniors and adults. Instruction is available to students from age five through adulthood, and beginners are welcome. Small classes are organized by age and belt rank, allowing instructors to give students individual attention and support their development at their own pace. The school emphasizes self-defense and traditional, non-competitive training, with internationally certified black belts on staff. A free introductory class is available, along with special trial offers and family rates.
