Great Local Pros is a free directory that helps people find local service professionals in more than 13,700 U.S. towns across 49 states. Customers can search by town and browse 43 service categories, including plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning, roofing, septic services, tree care, home cleaning, auto repair, tutoring, and pet care. Listings include direct phone numbers, allowing customers to contact businesses themselves without submitting a request form.

The directory says it reviews businesses against eight standards before listing them, including checking that a business is genuine, confirming required state licenses, verifying insurance for work on homes, and ensuring its phone is answered. Some older listings from public sources are labeled as not verified. Great Local Pros is free to use, requires no sign-up, and says it does not sell users’ information or charge businesses per call. The site also provides a free, 76-page hiring guide with advice on quotes, contracts, licenses, insurance, warning signs, and resolving problems.
