Great River Myotonic’s is a woman-owned, registered goat-breeding business at Great River Ranch in Bena, Minnesota. The family farm raises Nigerian Dwarf and Myotonic, or fainting, goats, with a focus on preserving the Myotonic breed. Its goats are bred for show, milk, and companionship, and the farm offers goats for sale, breeding pairs, reservations, and young kids. Visitors can arrange an appointment to meet the animals.

Myotonic goats are a friendly, intelligent, and docile multipurpose breed used for meat, milk, and fiber. Great River Myotonic’s registers its animals with the Myotonic Goat Registry and shares information about the breed, its herd, and available kids through its website and social media.

The farm also hand-milks its goats to make goat milk soaps and lotion bars, which are available for sale. Customers can contact the farm to ask about products or reserve a kid. Great River Myotonic’s reports regular biosecurity testing for its show goats, including tests for CAE, CL, and Johne’s disease, and says its results have remained negative since testing began in 2016.
