Green Acres Riding School

Green Acres Riding School is a family-oriented equestrian school in Kuilsriver, Cape Town, founded by Izak Visser in 2005. Drawing on his experience in Tent Pegging and Western Mounted Games, Izak leads a programme that welcomes beginners and intermediate riders of different ages and abilities. The school emphasises learning, horsemanship and stable management, with a focus on building trust and a balanced partnership between horse and rider rather than making competition its central purpose.

Lessons introduce disciplines including Dressage, Show Jumping, Showing, Tent Pegging, Mounted Games and Western Mounted Games; theory sessions cover topics such as horse care and hoof cleaning. Green Acres also competes actively in Tent Pegging and Western Mounted Games, and riders have represented the Western Cape and earned South African Colours. Facilities include 28 stables, a lunge ring, dressage arena and grass jumping arena, with riding-school horses available to lease.

Additional offerings include trail rides in the Bottelary Winelands, holiday programmes, pony rides and horse-themed parties for children and families
