About Green Book Alliance
The International Green Book Supply Chain Alliance, formed by Book Industry Communication (BIC), Book Industry Study Group (BISG), and BookNet Canada (BNC), is dedicated to promoting sustainability within the book industry. Recognizing the supply chain as a key area for impactful change, the alliance aims to eliminate waste and reduce environmental impact.
With their extensive experience and industry expertise, BIC, BISG, and BNC are well-positioned to guide the book publishing industry in creating positive environmental changes. The alliance will facilitate information sharing, joint planning, and environmental events. It also plans to collaborate with other international bodies interested in contributing to the cause.
Initial discussions have highlighted several opportunities for collaboration, including sharing best practices, publishing relevant environmental news, conducting research, providing a central resource for information and ideas, hosting global green book supply chain events, and developing an annual Green Global Supply Chain award.
While emphasizing the importance of international cooperation, the alliance remains open to embracing market-specific concerns and local initiatives. By fostering collaboration and joint initiatives, the alliance aims to lead international change in the book publishing industry's green efforts.
