Green Community Travel (GCT) is a charitable non-profit organization that offers safe, affordable, and accessible travel options for individuals and groups who cannot use public transportation. They provide their services to voluntary or community groups within South Gloucestershire. Individuals can register with their Ring & Ride service or opt for the voluntary car scheme if more suitable.
Charges are based on the total mileage of each journey, calculated to and from their Yate office. GCT first started operating in 1989, initially borrowing minibuses from local groups, and has since grown thanks to the support of volunteers, South Gloucestershire Council, and various grants. They offer services such as Ring & Ride, day trips to attractions, and a range of transportation options.
In 2012, they rebranded as Green Community Travel to expand their funding sources. None of this would be possible without the dedicated volunteers who drive, assist passengers, and support fundraising efforts. If you have spare time and want to make a difference, join Green Community Travel in improving the lives of others
