About The Greeneville Sun
The Greeneville Sun, established in 1879, has been proudly serving as Greene County's hometown newspaper for over a century. As part of the esteemed Adams Publishing Group, this newspaper has garnered numerous accolades for its exceptional news stories, advertising, photos, videos, and websites. Starting as The Greeneville Democrat, the newspaper underwent significant growth under the leadership of Edith O'Keefe Susong, eventually acquiring two rival publications and becoming what we know today as The Greeneville Sun.
Mrs. Susong, along with her mother Quincy Marshall O'Keefe, holds the honor of being the only mother-daughter team in the Tennessee newspaper Hall of Fame. Today, The Greeneville Sun continues to flourish under the management of Gregg K.
Jones, who is also the president of Adams Publishing Group East. The paper publishes six days a week, and its online platform, GreenevilleSun. com, is the most visited local website in Greene County.
In addition, GreenevilleSun. com features the Greeneville Marketplace, a comprehensive online business directory with over 2,000 local businesses listed. With a deep-rooted history and commitment to delivering top-quality news and information, The Greeneville Sun remains an indispensable source for the people of Greene County
