About EAUC
The Green Gown Awards, established in 2004 and sponsored by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), are a hallmark of excellence in sustainability initiatives across universities and colleges in the UK and Ireland. Recognizing best practices in the further and higher education sector, the Awards have expanded their reach internationally, with the Australasian Green Gown Awards launching in 2010 and the French-speaking Les trophées des campus responsables beginning in 2014. The International Green Gown Awards now allow global institutions to showcase their sustainability efforts, fostering a commitment to a more sustainable future.
Each region is governed by local steering groups, ensuring tailored recognition of regional initiatives. The Green Gown Awards aspire to replicate their success worldwide, partnering with networks and agencies to establish respected local programs. Through collaborations, sponsorships, and a robust judging panel, the Awards stand at the forefront of sustainability, celebrating those who are committed to making a positive impact on the environment
