About Greening the Caribbean
Greening the Caribbean (GtC) is an environmental management social company that specializes in waste management, recycling, and consulting services. As the leader in recycling services and circular economy practices in Saint Lucia, GtC is committed to reducing the amount of recyclable materials dumped in Caribbean landfills and minimizing public littering. Since its establishment in 2014, Greening the Caribbean has adopted a waste-to-landfill minimization approach, capturing recyclables at the source to mitigate environmental harm caused by co-mingling garbage and recyclables.
They design and implement customized waste management solutions tailored to each client's unique disposal needs, contributing directly to 11 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to their waste management operations, GtC is dedicated to raising environmental awareness and reducing marine pollution caused by beach littering. They also strive to decrease reliance on single-use plastic products.
At their on-island materials recovery center, GtC's skilled team reverse engineers and de-manufactures e-waste and other end-of-life mechanical equipment. The recyclable fractions are then extracted, sorted, and prepared for export into the international circular economy manufacturing value chain. With an unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and the preservation of the Caribbean's natural beauty, Greening the Caribbean is working tirelessly to create a greener future, one island at a time
