As the first cross-organizational effort of its kind, they prioritize their responsibility as fiduciaries of the organizations they represent. Their vision is to create a thriving environmental and conservation community in the United States by embedding an environmental ethic and driving positive change across sectors and institutions.

They work towards victories at all levels of policy and society, placing a special focus on communities most impacted by environmental degradation, including communities of color, indigenous communities, and low-income communities. Justice and equity guide their decision-making process, and they tackle multiple issues simultaneously to strengthen democracy, engagement, and resilience in all communities. With a dedicated Steering Committee and full membership, they are committed to inclusive governance and increasing diversity in leadership positions.

Green Leadership Trust also offers the Vanguard Fellowship, a development program that empowers the next generation of environmental and conservation leaders of color.
