Green Livestock Africa Limited

Green Livestock Africa is a Nigeria-based initiative that trains and equips livestock farmers, with a mission to strengthen farming livelihoods and address hunger and food insecurity across Africa. Its open training is free to access and covers breeding, animal nutrition, disease prevention, and farm management through workshops, on-farm sessions, and digital resources. The organization supports farmers with practical inputs and services, including improved genetics, laboratory support, veterinary assistance, vaccination schedules, grass seed, fertile eggs, and tilapia fingerlings.

Its breeding services include booked farm visits for goat artificial insemination using Kalahari, Boer, and Sahel genetics, with breeding details recorded for traceability. Green Livestock Africa also operates a hatchery offering day-old exotic chicks and custom hatching for customers’ fertile eggs. A marketplace features livestock raised by trained farmers, with documented genetics and health records, alongside fresh eggs from local farms. Farmers can begin with foundational guidance or build on existing experience, while partners can engage with the training and marketplace model. Green Livestock Africa reports training 93 farmers in its first cohort.
