GreenScore.eco is a non-profit foundation working to support economic and environmental harmony by giving people knowledge and tools to make decisions with ecological awareness. Its main offering, the Green Score City Index, measures the environmental footprints of urban areas and presents results in a format designed to make city comparisons easy to understand. The index covers 50 cities, with periodic releases that incorporate new science and municipal participation; the organization says coverage of American cities is coming soon.
The City Index scoreboard reports city scores, population figures, temperature-change indicators and national coverage. It groups cities by size and highlights higher-scoring places, helping residents and decision-makers explore the question, “How green is my city?” GreenScore.eco also publishes research, release notes, archived data and spreadsheets, alongside articles, short videos and documentaries on topics such as sustainable urban planning, greenspace, traffic congestion and climate impacts. Its work has involved public institutions, municipalities and research partners, and the index is available for republication under a Creative Commons 4.0 license.
