The Green Shipping Programme (GSP) is an innovative initiative aimed at establishing Norway as a leader in the efficient and environmentally friendly shipping sector. With a strong commitment to sustainable logistics, GSP focuses on reducing emissions and enhancing profitability within the maritime industry. The program collaborates with over 100 partners, including shipyards, suppliers, and research institutions, to promote the development and adoption of zero- and low-emission vessels using carbon-neutral fuels like hydrogen and ammonia.

Since its inception in 2015, GSP has launched 53 pilot projects, 19 of which are currently in progress, showcasing its impact in real-world applications, such as fully electric transport systems and battery-electric ferries. By prioritizing innovative solutions to greenhouse gas emissions, GSP aims to foster economic growth and bolster the competitiveness of Norway's maritime sector.

Through its public-private partnership model, GSP not only supports the local maritime cluster but also serves as an incubator for exporting environmental technologies and green transportation services worldwide.
