About Greenville FEC
The Greenville Financial Empowerment Center (Greenville FEC) provides free, one-on-one financial counseling and education to residents of the Upstate region of South Carolina. Since 2019, it has worked with the Greenville County Human Relations Commission and Cities for Financial Empowerment to help people build practical skills and make progress toward their financial goals. Trained counselors offer budgeting assistance, housing counseling, and strategies for managing debt, alongside guidance on savings, credit, and banking.
The center also helps clients consider legacy planning, including beneficiaries, wills, and powers of attorney. Its services are designed to support financial well-being, from creating an emergency fund and understanding loan terms to choosing affordable, insured banking products. Greenville FEC shares educational resources, including videos that explain financial concepts in accessible steps and guidance on building wealth through stages.
