About Grief Support Services Inc.
Grief Support Services Inc. | Tauranga is a local agency that has been providing community support since 1987. Our mission is to assist individuals, children, and families who are navigating the challenging journey of grief and loss.
We offer subsidised counselling to those affected by the loss of a loved one or circumstances that have brought about difficult changes. Grief Support Services understands that grief can stem from various sources, such as relationship breakup, financial loss, illness, or other unwelcome changes. We aim to combat isolation by fostering connections within the community and promoting communication between clients and their support networks.
Our services include up to six funded counselling sessions for individuals and families, specialised child counselling, support for parents of young children going through loss, presentations on grief management, support for those bereaved by suicide or affected by someone's suicidal behavior, and training opportunities for student counsellors.
