Grieg Green was a maritime services provider within the Grieg Maritime Group, focused on sustainable ship recycling and environmental, social and governance (ESG) advice. Its purpose was to demonstrate that maritime assets could be recycled in a responsible and sustainable manner. The company worked with customers and partner shipyards, aiming to support better practices across the recycling industry and provide high-quality services throughout the process.
After an extended period of challenging market conditions, Grieg Green decided to close its recycling and ESG advisory activities. The services were discontinued effective October 14, 2025. The Grieg Maritime Group said that high-end service providers such as Grieg Green were finding it increasingly difficult to remain competitive amid market shifts. The group described the closure as a difficult decision made after considering different scenarios, while recognizing the difference the company had made and thanking its team, customers and partners. Grieg Greenβs activities therefore represent a completed chapter in the effort to advance sustainable maritime recycling, rather than services currently available from the brand.
