Grillo develops affordable, connected instruments and software for monitoring earthquakes and ground displacement. Its systems are designed for remote deployment, helping governments, researchers, and commercial operators measure movement in locations where conventional infrastructure may be limited. Applications include earthquake early warning, national seismic networks, landslide and slope monitoring, subsidence, mining-related seismicity, volcanic activity, and structural monitoring of buildings, bridges, and other critical infrastructure.
The product range includes Grillo Slide, an RTK GNSS base-and-rover network for tracking gradual displacement; Grillo Pulse, a solar- and LTE-connected seismic node combining geophone and accelerometer sensors; and Grillo One, a compact, open-source strong-motion sensor. Grillo Cloud provides tools to manage sensor networks, monitor device health, and route seismic data to on-premise servers. Customers can also add SISTEM for automated earthquake detection, event cataloguing, magnitude calculation, and early warning alerts.
Grillo’s deployments include projects in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Haiti, developed with partners such as UNDP, USAID, and IDB. The company emphasizes standard data formats, compatibility with existing workflows, and customer control of data.
