Grit City Kitty is a locally owned cat boarding and pet-sitting business serving Tacoma and nearby communities. Founded in 2022 by Sharyn Wolfenbarger, the business draws on her 15 years of fostering cats and kittens for local shelters and seven years of experience in veterinary medicine. Its goal is to provide welcoming, dependable care while making pet services accessible to the community.
Cats can stay in multi-level kitty condos, spacious single-level flats, or private bedroom suites, with options suited to different activity levels, preferences, and multi-cat households. Accommodations include cozy hiding places, perches, toys, clean litter, and filtered water. Grit City Kitty also provides in-home visits to feed, play with, and care for pets, and can assist with dogs and pocket pets. Sitting visits may include plant watering, mail collection, and light housework.
The business has experience supporting cats with specialized diets and care needs, including medication, insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, and wound care. It offers complimentary in-home introductions for sitting clients and serves Tacoma, Fircrest, Ruston, and University Place.
