Groen & Gers is a garden design and ecological outdoor-space studio led by Michael Doove, an ecological garden designer. Its mission is to create inviting, nature-rich places that work for people, plants and wildlife, with a tree included in every garden design. The studio designs new gardens, helps improve existing ones, and offers advice and a course for people who want to plan an ecological garden themselves.
Its approach combines creative, distinctive design with ecological principles, using native planting and sustainable materials to support biodiversity and create climate-resilient spaces. Gardens are tailored to clients’ needs and can be designed to require little maintenance, with clear guidance on their care. Groen & Gers explains the benefits of greener gardens, including shade in warm weather, better rainwater management and habitat for insects, birds and other animals.
