Ground Floor Contemporary (GFC) is a dynamic and artist-run cooperative art gallery based in Birmingham, AL. Committed to fostering the visual arts community both locally and beyond, GFC represents a diverse group of thirty talented artists, including both local and out-of-state talents. In addition, GFC houses ten resident studios, providing a platform for artists to create and exhibit their work.

GFC hosts monthly exhibitions featuring compelling three-artist group shows, showcasing the collective talents of their exhibiting members. They also curate annual exhibitions that highlight visiting artists and curators, contributing to an ever-evolving and collaborative art scene. Their exhibition season runs from May to April, with the highlight being an all-artist/full-building exhibition in April that features open studios.

To further support emerging and established artists, GFC invites submissions through their Call for Artists page. Located at 111 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd S, Birmingham, AL 35233, GFC invites visitors to experience their gallery by appointment, providing a space to engage with thought-provoking contemporary art.

Open on Saturdays from 1-4 pm during exhibitions, GFC also offers openings receptions, artist talks, and other events to deepen the connection between viewers and creators.
