About Agrex Group

Agrex Group is a family-operated agricultural enterprise established in the 1970s, dedicated to sustainable agricultural practices across 5,000 hectares in Petén, Guatemala. Specializing in the cultivation and processing of natural rubber, tropical fruits like rambutan, and cattle, Agrex has become a leader in responsible farming and community development. They pioneered the commercial planting of fruit crops and rubber in northern Guatemala during the late 1990s, establishing a diversified and vertically integrated operation that emphasizes environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

With 1,500 hectares of FSC-certified rubber in production, Agrex operates the only latex processing plant in the region, which began functioning in 2024 and utilizes solar energy to produce high-quality export-grade latex. Their long-term vision is evident in plans to expand rubber cultivation by an additional 1,500 hectares by 2028, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable growth that benefits both the land and local communities.
