Grupo EMS is a Brazilian healthcare group with more than half a century of history, growing from the Farmácia Santa Catarina, opened in Santo André in the 1950s, into a leading presence in the country’s pharmaceutical market. Founded as EMS in 1964, the group brings together companies working across research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and the commercialization of healthcare products.
Its portfolio spans prescription medicines, generics, branded medicines, over-the-counter products, and hospital medicines. The group’s businesses include EMS, Legrand, Germed, Multilab, Nova Química, and eye-care company Oftá, alongside operations in areas such as innovative drug research through Brace Pharma and logistics through Snellog. Group EMS also has international businesses, including Galenika, and participates in partnerships such as Bionovis, which focuses on complex biological medicines.
With activities across multiple areas of health, the group emphasizes innovation, quality, and broader access to treatment. It also invests beyond pharmaceuticals and highlights social and environmental responsibility as part of its work.
