Gruppo Puglia Grotte APS is a speleology association based in Castellana Grotte, in southern Italy. Founded in 1971, it focuses on research, exploration, education and communication about caves and the underground environment. Its activities extend across Puglia and the Murge, into other areas of southern Italy including the Alburni, and abroad, with expeditions in Albania, Morocco and Portugal.
The group offers an introductory speleology course each year, a program it has run since 1978, and organizes outings and expeditions that introduce participants to cave exploration. It also shares its work and knowledge through educational activities, events, reports and publications. The association maintains a Speleological Museum and a historical archive, supporting its commitment to documenting and communicating the region’s underground heritage.
Gruppo Puglia Grotte is located on Via Margherita di Savoia in Castellana Grotte, where members meet on Thursday evenings. Its website provides information about the group’s leadership, statute, courses, research, events and other activities
