GS Caltex

GS Caltex is a South Korean energy and chemical company that describes its roots as the country’s first privately owned oil refiner. It has grown into a major supplier of energy and industrial materials, investing in refining, lubricants and petrochemicals. Its product range includes gasoline, premium gasoline, diesel, kerosene, LPG, aviation and marine fuels, asphalt and other petroleum products.

The company also produces aromatics such as benzene, toluene and paraxylene; olefins including ethylene and propylene; polymers such as polypropylene and high-density polyethylene; and base oils and lubricants. GS Caltex says it supplies the domestic market and exports more than 70 percent of its products to 50 countries, contributing to Korea’s economy. Its activities also include research and development, production-process expertise, and customer access to service stations, charging stations and electric-vehicle charging locations.
