The Geoscience Society of New Zealand (GSNZ) is a collaborative and informative community representing the field of Earth sciences in Aotearoa New Zealand. Comprising amateur and professional members, including high school teachers, early career researchers, industry professionals, and retirees, GSNZ offers a platform for connection and knowledge development. With eight branches and various special interest groups, individuals have ample opportunities to engage and expand their understanding of the subject matter.

As a GSNZ member, you will gain access to international networks through our sponsored or jointly operated Special Interest Groups. Moreover, the society hosts an annual conference, recognizing and awarding members for their remarkable contributions to the geosciences. Notably, GSNZ also oversees the Fossil Record Electronic Database and maintains a Geoheritage Sub-committee, responsible for upkeeping important geological sites and landforms in New Zealand.
