Jonastalverein e.V. is a dedicated organization focused on preserving and documenting the historical significance of the Jonastal region, particularly regarding the S III special construction project and its associated history. The association actively engages in various cultural and educational activities, aiming to foster a living memory of past events through research, literature, and public events. Among their offerings, visitors can find a variety of books related to the region's history, including their publication "Geheimnis Jonastal Nr. 24," available for purchase at their document center and online shop.

The Jonastalverein also hosts significant events such as the annual memorial ceremony at the Jonastal Memorial and various book readings that emphasize local history. With a recently renovated documentation center, they provide insights into the harsh realities faced by prisoners during the S III project and continue to work toward the archiving of historical data. The Jonastalverein is not just a custodian of history but a vibrant hub for educational initiatives, ensuring that the stories of those affected by the past are not forgotten.
