GTPM (Grupo de Trabajo Sobre Política Migratoria) is a pivotal civil society network comprised of organizations and individuals dedicated to advocating for the rights of migrants and those seeking international protection. Operating in the context of Mexico's complex migration landscape, GTPM focuses on essential issues such as legislative advocacy, actor mapping, and providing resources through its extensive library. The organization highlights the structural causes of migration, including poverty, violence, and systemic discrimination, which compel individuals to leave their countries.

Despite progress in legal frameworks and public policies, GTPM critiques the state’s ongoing approach to migration, which prioritizes control over human rights. This perspective has led to increasingly dangerous migration routes and heightened risks for migrants and human rights defenders. GTPM offers critical training courses on asylum and protection laws, fostering informed dialogue about migration legislation. Through campaigns, expert discussions, and community engagement, GTPM strives to ensure that the human rights of all migrants are recognized and upheld in Mexico.
