About tRNA at UCSC Lowe Lab
GtRNAdb is a vital resource for researchers and scientists focused on genomic tRNA analysis. Developed by the Lowe Lab at the University of California Santa Cruz, it features comprehensive predictions of tRNA genes made using tRNAscan-SE across a wide array of complete or nearly complete genomes. With automated annotations that streamline the process, GtRNAdb provides insights into over 609 eukaryotic genomes and 4,038 bacterial genomes, totaling nearly 179,000 and 242,000 tRNA gene predictions, respectively.
The platform also offers innovative tools like tDRnamer for standardized naming of tRNA-derived RNAs, tRAX for sequencing data analysis, and tRAP for predicting tRNA gene activity in various species, including humans and mice. With a focus on accuracy and efficiency, GtRNAdb is an indispensable database for genetic, evolutionary, and biomedical research, continuously updated to reflect the latest scientific findings and methodologies in tRNA studies
