Guanin Center

Guanin International is a nonprofit community development organization rooted in La Piedra, Dominican Republic. Through its local nonprofit, Fundación Centro Cultural Guanín, Inc., it works with community leaders and international partners to strengthen rural communities and create lasting opportunities. The organization brings together local leadership, universities, volunteers, businesses, and philanthropists to support an integrated approach to development rather than isolated projects.

Guanin’s programs focus on community healthcare, education, youth development, sports, gender equality, economic opportunity, and community development. Its mission is to provide children and young people in the Dominican-Haitian community with a safe, supportive environment to build confidence, relationships, and practical life skills. Initiatives are designed to empower families, foster local leadership, and help communities become more resilient and self-sustaining.

The organization also promotes cultural exchange, environmental conservation, ecotourism, and entrepreneurship as part of its wider vision. People can support its work by donating, volunteering, partnering, or listening to Guanin’s podcasts, which share stories of community transformation and leadership.
