Guardian Tactical

Guardian Tactical Institute is a firearms training provider based in Sycamore, Illinois, operated by Tenzero Industries, LLC. The institute focuses on helping individuals build the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their families while meeting Illinois concealed carry requirements. Its offerings include the 16-hour Illinois concealed carry course, typically delivered across two dates with classroom instruction followed by further classroom work and live-fire range qualification.

A three-hour renewal course is also offered. Students who have completed qualifying training may receive credit toward the state’s 16-hour requirement, subject to advance confirmation. Beyond permit courses, the institute provides basic and intermediate firearms handling and tactical shooting instruction intended to develop skills not covered in standard concealed carry classes.

Training is led by Dale Fildes, a retired police officer with more than 20 years of experience as a firearms instructor. The website notes that classes are not currently being scheduled for 2025–2026 because of the instructor’s health; future availability is to be posted when training can resume
