Guernsey Swimming Club, established on August 23, 1886, is Guernsey's second oldest sporting club, with a rich history rooted in promoting aquatic sports. Originally a men's only club, it evolved over the years to embrace diversity and inclusion, hosting the first mixed gala in 1923. The club has seen significant milestones, including the introduction of water polo, diving competitions, and the establishment of floodlit galas that attracted tourists in the 1960s and 70s.

With the opening of the Beau Sejour Recreation Centre in 1976, the club transformed swimming into a year-round sporting activity, enabling members to compete at higher levels.
