GujSahityaParishad

Gujarati Sahitya Parishad is an Ahmedabad-based literary organisation founded in 1905 to protect, develop and promote the Gujarati language, literature and culture. Established through the efforts of Ranjitram Vavabhai, the Parishad has played a significant role in nurturing Gujarati literary life for more than a century. Its history is linked with prominent writers and cultural figures, and its first conference was presided over by novelist Govardhanram Tripathi.

The Parishad supports readers, writers, students and researchers through a broad range of activities and resources. These include a library and catalogue, manuscript and photographic collections, digital archives, reading facilities, educational programmes, research centres and guidance for emerging writers. It organises lectures, seminars, poetry readings, literary gatherings and other cultural events, while also supporting translation and language education.

Its publications include books on Gujarati literary history and Parab, its literary magazine, alongside newsletters and online materials. Visitors can explore literary criticism, interviews, audio and video archives, and information about membership, affiliation and volunteering.
