Gunton Woodland Burial

Gunton Woodland Burial Park is an environmentally friendly natural burial ground in Lowestoft, serving the Waveney and Great Yarmouth area. Established as the first woodland burial park of its kind in the area, it offers an alternative to a traditional cemetery for people who wish to be laid to rest in a natural setting. The park describes woodland burial as a way to create new wildlife habitat while minimising the environmental impact of burial practices.

Run as a non-profitmaking registered charity, Gunton Woodland Burial Park intends to donate surplus funds to local good causes after repaying its start-up loans. It offers a range of burial choices, with professional support to help families make arrangements and ensure that each burial is carried out respectfully. Visitors can explore the burial park and learn about its planting and environmental plan. The organisation also provides ways to remember loved ones, including memorial tributes and tree sponsorships. Information about prices, visiting, rules and arrangements is available through the park.
