About Gurdwara Sahib of Southwest Houston
Gurdwara Sahib of Southwest Houston (GSSWH) is a prominent Sikh temple established by the residents of Sugar Land and Southwest Houston in 2006. The GSSWH offers a variety of religious services and programs for the Sikh community. Every Sunday morning, the temple holds a shabad kirtan dewan, starting with the Asa-di-Vaar at 8:00 AM followed by the recitation of the Sukhmani Sahib at 10:00 AM.
The main shabad kirtan dewan begins at 11:30 AM, concluding with Anand Sahib and ardas at 12:45 PM. This spiritual program attracts an average attendance of 350 to 450 people. Additionally, the GSSWH organizes a Friday evening dewan at 7:30 PM, which also includes langar seva at 9:00 PM.
The temple is headed by renowned ragi and Sikh scholar, Bhai Harjit Singh Ji, with assistance from Bhai Daljit Singh Ji and Bhai Karamjot Singh Ji. They provide spiritual guidance and support to the community. Besides religious services, GSSWH also operates a Punjabi School for children aged six and above.
