Gut Schäferhof

Gut Schäferhof is a riding farm and horse boarding facility in Appen, set among meadows and fields near the Tävsmoor and within convenient reach of Hamburg. Operated by Lebenshilfewerk Pinneberg für Menschen mit Behinderung gemeinnützige GmbH, the farm combines equestrian care with an inclusive working environment. Four employees and 18 people with disabilities work together to look after around 80 horses, supporting their daily wellbeing at the property.

The farm’s peaceful rural setting offers a calm place for horses and riders, while its location provides access to the Hamburg area. Gut Schäferhof welcomes visitors to learn about the farm, its history and its services, and provides contacts for enquiries. Its central offering is horse boarding in a countryside setting, alongside the activities of a working riding farm. The organization is part of the Lebenshilfe Südholstein foundation group, which also includes Lebenshilfe für Menschen mit Behinderung im Kreis Pinneberg gemeinnützige GmbH. Gut Schäferhof presents itself as a welcoming destination for horse owners seeking a place for their horses.
