Guyane Promotion Santé (GPS) is a nonprofit association established in 2007 under France’s 1901 association law. Funded by the Regional Health Agency (ARS), it carries out the work of the Regional Institute for Health Education and Promotion (IREPS) in French Guiana. Its mission is to support the development of health education, health promotion and therapeutic patient education across the territory.
GPS works with individuals and organizations at each stage of health-related projects, offering guidance and support, including through calls for projects. It provides training to help participants design and deliver health education and promotion initiatives. Its resource centres in Cayenne and Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni offer project support, documentary materials and educational tools. The organization also maintains a directory of local health-promotion stakeholders and shares news, events, job opportunities and information through its website and newsletter.
