GWL Grundwasser Leipzig GmbH

GWL Grundwasser Leipzig GmbH is a Leipzig-based specialist in groundwater modelling and environmental planning. The company helps clients address water-related and ecological challenges through tailored solutions informed by its team’s experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, applied modelling, and urban and landscape ecology. Its work connects groundwater expertise with broader assessments of the water balance.

Groundwater services include developing models for specific project questions, preparing hydrogeological reports, and carrying out mining-related hydrological model calculations. GWL also assesses groundwater availability in the context of climate change and creates complex model integrations with soil water balance or surface water models. Its consulting work and software development further support its groundwater modelling expertise.

In environmental planning, the company prepares species protection assessments, provides ecological construction supervision, and surveys protected species. It develops project-specific approaches to nature and species conservation, helping clients consider environmental requirements alongside their project objectives. With its combination of technical modelling and environmental planning, GWL offers a single partner for projects involving groundwater, water balance, and ecological considerations.
