GWEC

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is a member-based organisation representing the global wind energy sector. Its network includes more than 1,500 companies, organisations and institutions across over 80 countries, from turbine manufacturers and project developers to suppliers, research institutes, industry associations, utilities, and finance and insurance companies. GWEC works with governments, policymakers, international institutions, investors and communities to improve the policy environment for wind power and help the technology contribute to the energy transition.

The organisation’s work includes advocacy, international collaboration, authoritative research and analysis, and support for knowledge-sharing between markets. Its resources include global and regional wind industry reports, market intelligence, an energy security tracker, offshore wind guidance and tools on topics such as floating wind, sustainability and workforce development. GWEC also convenes industry events and initiatives, including the Global Offshore Wind Alliance, Women in Wind and the Floating Wind Industry Accelerator. Through its membership programme, regional task forces, publications and events, GWEC connects stakeholders and communicates the benefits and potential of wind energy as a climate and energy solution.
