About GWP Tanzania
Gwptz, also known as Global Water Partnership Tanzania (GWPTZ), is a national arm of the Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO). GWPO is a worldwide intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder network that focuses on sustainable management and development of water resources. The organization operates in 13 regions covering 158 countries, with its global secretariat based in Stockholm, Sweden.
GWPTZ's main objective is to promote partnerships in implementing integrated water resources management, sanitation, and hygiene in Tanzania. Their goal is to foster equitable and efficient management and sustainable utilization of water resources for economic growth and human security. The organization focuses on seven strategic thematic areas, including integrated water resources management, climate change and water security, and gender and youth empowerment in water resources.
Through collaboration with strategic partners, such as the Ministry of Water, GWPTZ provides knowledge leadership and a platform for information sharing and capacity building in water resources management. They are dedicated to addressing the challenges and threats posed by climate change and rapid urbanization and strive to achieve a water-secure Tanzania.
