Geflügelzuchtverein Miesbach gegr. 1909 e.V. is a poultry-breeding association in the Miesbach district of Bavaria, with 171 members. Founded more than a century ago, the club brings together active chicken and pigeon breeders, including enthusiasts who raise traditional breeds such as Krüper, Sulmtaler, Gimpeltauben, Oberbayerische Feldlerchen and Böhmentauben. Members participate in exhibitions and sell birds at markets, while enjoying eggs and poultry meat from their own flocks.

The association’s work combines breeding and the preservation of older breeds with social exchange and shared outings. It offers regular breeder meetings from October through June, held on the third Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. From January 2026, meetings take place at the SV Miesbach sports club restaurant. The club also shares information about its breeds, activities and events, including regional poultry shows and social gatherings. New members are welcome, and the association invites people of all ages who are interested in poultry keeping to join, exchange experience and enjoy the hobby together.
