Cloudflare provides an internet speed test designed to help people check their connection and understand network performance. Powered by Cloudflare’s global edge network, the service measures download and upload speeds, latency, jitter, and packet loss. It also presents network quality scores for activities such as streaming, gaming, and video calls, helping users assess how their connection may support common online uses.

The test is available through Cloudflare’s website and includes information about server location and how measurements are handled. When a user runs the test, Cloudflare receives their IP address and uses it to estimate their country and city and identify their internet provider’s Autonomous System Number. Cloudflare truncates the IP address and shares anonymized measurement information with measurement partners for a shared internet performance database; it states that it does not share the user’s IP address with those partners. The service can consume up to 200 MB of data per test. Cloudflare also provides privacy information, terms of use, and company details through its website.
